Summary

The Project + IGUAL Combating Gender-Based Violence in São Tomé and Príncipe has the overall objective of contributing to the elimination of all forms of violence against women and girls in São Tomé and Príncipe, in line with the country’s international commitments and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality).

The project was formalized through Contribution Agreement FED/2022/440-384, signed between the European Union and Camões, I.P. on December 12, 2022.

As part of its implementation, CoLABOR entered into a Partnership Agreement with Camões, I.P. to develop an information management system in the area of gender-based violence (GBV)and to train various services in its use (Activity A.1.3.1). This product will ensure the availability of high-quality, disaggregated, and internationally comparable data capable of informing laws, policies, and programs, thereby contributing to the activity (outcome 1.3).

Based on a participatory approach and institutional integration with local entities, this information management system will comply with the technical requirements set forth in the Terms of Reference governing this service provision—including adherence to the principles of the Gender-Based Violence Information Management System (GBV IMS) — and will be structured around the four project implementation phases identified therein.
