Luís Vargas holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from IADE and a master’s degree in Engineering Design from the Instituto Superior Técnico.

He began his career as a researcher at the IN+ Center for Innovation, Technology, and Policy Research and at ISR—the Institute of Systems and Robotics. He worked as an industrial designer at YDreams, where he went on to lead the department in Portugal and Brazil.

He co-founded the communications agency Fisherman, where he worked as a designer and computer programmer, and served as a product development consultant for several MedTech startups in Switzerland.

He currently oversees software development at CoLABOR and works as a consultant for various organizations.
