CoLABOR researchers contribute to an article in the scientific journal *Energy Research*

The phase-out of coal in Portugal in 2021 was celebrated politically as a milestone in climate leadership.

As part of the project ClimatEquality, CoLABOR researchers Sara Nunes, Frederico Cantante, Pedro Estêvão, Franco Tomassoni, and Tânia Almeida contributed to the article“Between rhetoric and reality: Governance of just transition in Portugal's coal phase-out,” published in the journal “Energy Research & Social Science,” co-authored with Ricardo Moreira and Vera Ferreira.

This article examines the governance of the process through the lens of a Just Transition framework, analyzing the relationships between political commitments, institutional implementation, administrative outcomes, and the experiences of workers.
