"Struggles Against Poverty" Conference Promotes Debate on Inequalities and Collective Action
CoLABOR is partnering with Pluriversidade Comunitária, Rede DLBC Lisboa, and LARGO Residências to promote the Conference on the Struggle Against Poverty—“Counting on One Another: Needs, Knowledge, and Action,” which will take place on October 17, from 9:50 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The event brings together people who live in and face situations of poverty and social exclusion, representatives of organizations, and others involved in these areas, providing a forum for sharing experiences, knowledge, and perspectives on social challenges in Greater Lisbon.
Throughout the day, topics such as housing, mobility, working conditions, health, culture, and the stigmas associated with poverty will be addressed, as well as their influence on social policies. The program includes roundtables and debates, as well as opportunities for socializing and sharing, with the aim of building networks of community resources and strengthening collective action.
The initiative aims to highlight the experiences and knowledge of those living through these realities, recognizing the importance of their participation in identifying needs and developing solutions. In this context, the sharing and dissemination of knowledge among groups affected by inequalities play a fundamental role in bridging the gap between reflection, lived experiences, and action.
The event is open to the public, and we invite anyone interested to participate in this space for debate, gathering, and collective creation.
Date: October 17
