CoLABOR researchers contribute to new book on living wages in Portugal
On February 12, at 6:30 p.m., the presentation of the book Salário Digno em Portugal: da necessidade à possibilidade de uma política(A Living Wage in Portugal: from necessity to the possibility of a policy) will take place at ISEG - Auditorium 4 (Edifício Novo Quelhas).
The work was written by José António Pereirinha, retired professor at ISEG, and Elvira Pereira, professor at the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences. The book includes contributions from CoLABOR researchers Frederico Cantante and Pedro Estêvão, authors of the chapter "Wage inequalities."
The session will be attended by the authors and will feature contributions from Paulo Trigo Pereira and Paula Cristina Albuquerque, professors at ISEG. João Duque, President of ISEG, will open the session.
This publication aims to contribute to the national academic debate on living wages in Portugal, promoting public awareness of the need for a living wage policy, the different alternatives for its design, and the political variables involved. The work also aims to support political leaders and social partners—employers and workers—in holding more informed and substantiated discussions on this matter.
Admission is free.
