Tiago Santos Pereira
He holds a PhD in Science and Technology Policy Studies from SPRU, University of Sussex, and is a Senior Researcher at the Centre for Social Studies (CES), University of Coimbra, where he is Co-Coordinator of the PhD Program 'Governance, Knowledge and Innovation'. His research, using approaches from the Social Studies of Science and Technology (STS) and Innovation Studies, focuses on the politics and governance of science and technology and the processes of knowledge circulation and intermediation between the public research sector, companies, public decision-making processes and society. Her research has focused both on the Portuguese context and on European and international contexts. She is currently a member of CoLabor's research team, in its line on Technology, Work and Employment.
Between 2015 and 2018 he was Coordinator of the Studies and Strategy Office of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). He is Vice-Chair of the OECD Working Party on Innovation and Technology Policy (TIP), and was also National Delegate to the OECD Committee on Science and Technology Policy (CSTP). He was Executive Director of the Center for Social Studies and Vice-President of its Scientific Council. In addition to his research work, he has collaborated with various institutions in the area of S&T policies, namely with the European Commission, UNESCO, FCT, CYTED, Science Europe. He was a National Delegate on the 'Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities' Committee of the 7th European Research Framework Program, and a member of the Network Board of the ERA-NET NORFACE network, representing FCT.
